Pressure Sensing Elements

PE-4000, 6000, & 7000 Room/Space Pressure Sensors
PE-8000 Outdoor Pressure Sensing Element

The PE-4000, PE-6000, & PE-7000 are designed to accurately sense room/space static pressure levels and eliminate signal error caused by ambient air turbulence created by occupant motion, operating equipment, or air distribution devices. The output of these sensors is an exceptionally accurate and stable static pressure signal for laboratory; clean, containment, or isolation room differential pressure indication and/or control. The PE-4000 is designed to fit in a standard electrical utility box. The PE-6000 and PE-7000 are designed, respectively, for surface and flush mounting, on the ceiling or a wall within the area being monitored.

 

Model PE-8000 Pressure Sensing Elements are designed to provide a true outdoor (atmospheric) pressure signal that is not affected by wind induced pressure envelopes. The impact plate keeps flow from directly hitting the sensing holes and creating errors. Their output may be used as a reference for interior building space pressure control.

PE-5000 Duct Static Pressure Sensing Element

Model PE-5000 units are insertion-type primary duct pressure sensing elements. The accuracy and low signal-to-noise ratio of the output is made possible by the placement of multiple sensing ports along the length of the element and the averaging effect of the internal manifold. Their low installed costs make them very economical for multiple branch variable air volume duct systems where indication and fan capacity control may be based on the lowest pressure of multiple static pressure points.

DPT & DPIT-4005 Series Differential Pressure Transducers
MicroTransEQ Airflow Signal Processor

Analog four wire differential pressure transducers with a scaling multiplier and output filter complete in a single package, the 4-20 mA, 0-5 VDC, or 0-10 VDC selectable output of the DPT & DPIT-4005 Series transducers is linear to velocity pressure.

Each transducer is factory spanned and calibrated to meet the design requirement of the application. Optional features include local indication of the measured differential pressure on an independent front panel mounted magnehelic pressure gauge (Model DPIT-4005-M).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The MicroTransEQ flow transducer utilizes a 24-bit A/D converter for signal processing and can produce accuracies of ±0.1% of reading.

The ultra-low 0.03″ w.c. differential pressure (693 fpm at standard air density conditions) full scale operating range and the auto zeroing function provides accurate air flow measurement down to 100 fpm, making this product ideal for outdoor air flow measurement applications and for use on projects seeking to obtain credit for IEQ Credit 1: Outdoor Air Delivery Monitoring under the LEED® Green Building Rating System.

The MicroTransEQ also accepts a temperature input signal for air density compensation for standard or actual airflow calculations. For easy use on fan inlet applications with piezometer ring systems, the MicroTransEQ incorporates a special piezometer ring flow algorithm with easy flow coefficient entry through display menus. A 4-point flow correction and K-factor field menu are included to reduce time and save money spent on balancing. Device monitoring and configuration can also be performed by a building management system through either a LonWorks®, BACnet-MS/TP® Master or Modbus communication network.

FE-1000 Duct Insertion Airflow Sensing Elements

The FE-1050 is an airflow measuring element assembly specifically designed for installation in the inlet cone of centrifugal fans or inlet bell of vane-axial fans. The design of these primary elements provides a means of accurate measurement of fan capacity along with ease of installation. Each assembly is complete with two airflow measuring elements and pivot mounting hardware. Flow transducers are sold separately.

 

 

 

FE-1500 Duct Mounted Airflow Measurement Stations

The FE-1000 is an insertion type airflow sensing element designed for quick, easy installation through a small cutout in the existing ductwork. Where multiple elements are required for proper duct traversing, the output ports are manifolded together, external to the ductwork. Flow transducers are sold separately.

 

 

FE-1500-FX Duct Mounted Airflow Measurement Station with Straightener

The FE-1500 airflow measurement station consists of single or multiple airflow elements, factory mounted and pre-piped in a casing designed for flanged connection to the ductwork. Standard materials consist of a G90 galvanized casing and 6063-T5 anodized aluminum flow sensors, suitable for most HVAC applications. Flow transducers are sold separately.

 

 

 

 

 

The FE-1500-FX airflow measurement station has been developed for use in duct systems having a highly turbulent condition at the point of measurement. The FE-1500-FX consists of single or multiple airflow elements factory mounted and pre-piped in a casing designed for flanged connection to the ductwork and incorporates an airflow straightening section using honeycomb having a ½ inch opening by 3 inch depth. Standard materials consist of a G90 galvanized casing, 6063-T5 anodized aluminum flow sensors, and 3003 aluminum airflow straightener. Flow transducers are sold separately.

 

OAFE-1500 Outdoor Airflow Measurement System

 

The OAFE-1500 is an AMCA-certified outdoor airflow measurement system capable of producing an overall ±0.5% accuracy through the velocity range of 200 to 1,200 fpm. The airflow measurement system consists of an integral signal processor and multiple airflow elements, factory-mounted and pre-piped in a casing designed for flanged connection to ductwork, control dampers, louvers, etc. An optional inlet bell is available for plenum applications. The signal processor accepts a temperature input signal for air density compensation for standard (scfm) or actual (acfm) airflow calculations.

 

 

 

Indicating Meters

FI Series Indicating Meters

The FI Series indicating meters are connected directly to the airflow or pressure sensing element(s), providing the user with continuous, direct, and independent indication of the process being measured.

The FI Series indicating meter scales are custom-made to match the operating conditions of the airflow or pressure sensing element(s) being served and can be scaled for volume and velocity or differential pressure in either English or SI engineering units.

The FI-1000 is a wall-mounted meter mounted in a 16-gauge aluminum panel. The FI-2000 is a portable meter mounted in a lightweight aluminum enclosure with carrying handle. The FI-3000 is a central readout centre consisting of multiple meters mounted in a NEMA 13 enclosure.

Space/Room Pressure Monitors

SPM-3000 Micro Guardian Room/Space Pressure Monitor & Alarm System

The SPM-3000 Micro Guardian is a complete room/space pressure measurement system including space and reference pressure sensors and a central signal processing module.

The central module includes a flush mount electrical box, local LED indication of alarm status and operational mode, audible alarm with alarm acknowledge button, and an optional LCD for local display of the space pressure. Device monitoring and configuration is performed via LonWorks® or BACnet®-MS/TP communication networks.

Additionally, the monitor can be configured locally via IR communication using a laptop or Palm Tungsten E2® (or equivalent). An additional network communication port is available for connection to PCI’s RPM-2000 Guardian Remote Pressure Monitor that can be located at a nurse’s station.

SPM-4000 Guardian Infinity Room/Space Pressurization Monitor and Controller

The SPM-4000 Guardian Infinity is a complete room/space pressure measurement system including space and reference pressure sensors and a central signal processing module.

The central module includes a flush mount electrical box, 8 line graphic display for local indication of the space pressure and device configuration, six button touch pad for field configuration, LED indication of operational mode and status, and an audible alarm with alarm acknowledge switch. The Guardian Infinity offers an optional controller to provide responsive modulation of a control damper or variable speed drive guaranteeing a stable space pressure is maintained. Device monitoring and configuration is performed via LonWorks® or BACnet®-MS/TP communication networks.

Additionally, the monitor can be configured locally via IR communication using a laptop or Palm Tungsten E2® (or equivalent). An additional network communication port is available for connection to PCI’s RPM-2000 Guardian Remote Pressure Monitor that can be located at a nurse’s station.

RPM-2000 Guardian Remote Pressure Monitor

 

The RPM-2000 Guardian Remote Pressure Monitor is designed for indicating the differential pressure value and alarm status from multiple Guardian Space Pressure Monitors (SPM).

The Guardian RPM can also be used to make global and individual SPM configuration changes such as high and low alarm setpoints, alarm delay value, operating mode, engineering units, etc. The Guardian RPM communicates with the individual SPMs through a dedicated twisted pair connection using BACnet®-MS/TP communication protocol. The Guardian RPM is typically located at the nurse’s station for hospital applications or at the facility maintenance office for laboratory applications.
